“Who am I anyway? Am I my resume?”
~ From A Chorus Line
Do you ever have an idea for a job you’d like to have or the life you’d like to live? Do you find yourself thinking, “Wouldn’t it be cool if ________?” (Fill in the blank.) Do you find yourself putting it off, making excuses, and saying “maybe some day”?
Well, that’s just what happened to me…except my “some day” has come. I heard a creative call – the call of my past experiences as a theatre nerd and visual artist combined with the whisper of a newfound passion for photography. The whisper got so loud that it was time to answer the call, put one foot in front of another and build a career out of my love of all things beautiful.
So who am I anyway? Am I my resume? Yes and no. I call myself a photographer, but that is only part of the story. I bring to my photography all that I am and all that I’ve been and all that I hope to be. The theatre girl in me is always looking for a story, a connection, a captivating moment that passes in an instant. The visual artist in me is always looking for interesting angles and noticing color and light. The foodie in me is always on the hunt for food that looks as good as it tastes. And the spreadsheet queen in me enjoys nothing more than balancing a budget and creating order. (I know, geeky, right?)
But if you really want to know – I am a latte drinking, often giggling, spotlight loving, sometimes napping, cat-mommying, Seattle lovin’ and livin’, creative path exploring, mac ‘n’ cheese eating, husband hugging, camera toting gal with a dream. That’s me.
{Oh, and by the way, my name is Darrah. I specialize in food and lifestyle photography. For inquiries and booking information in the Seattle area, please email me.}
{It has to be said: All words and photos are mine unless otherwise noted. But my mama taught me to be nice and share! Nothing makes me happier than knowing that someone liked a photo. If something on this site spoke to you, please leave a comment and let me know! If you'd like to use any of my photos, please do your part and email me first. Chances are, I'll say "of course!" and will stop by your site to say hello!}
